NEW ALBUM – OWEN CAMPBELL & THE COSMIC PEOPLE LIVE

The night before the LIVE ALBUM SHOW recording, in the early hours of the morning, I was on the verge of cancelling. I was startled awake at 2am by my partner as she was having some early contractions, the birth of our second son Harry was imminent! The due date was yesterday! Although it turned out to be a false alarm and Tarsh went back to sleep, I was sitting alone chewing my nails at 3am ready to call it off. What if the baby comes mid-gig? What if it comes as we’re sound checking? It all seemed too much of a risk and the uncertainty just too much. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep well at all.

My band, Matt Nightingale (Bass), Kayne Butler (Drums) along with special guest Tate Sheridan (Keys) all agreed to commit come hell or high water and if a baby happened to come they would happily bow out. A Cosmic commitment that produced a Cosmic result.

Oftentimes in the face of exhaustion and terrifying uncertainty, we can transcend to a higher level of consciousness.  This show was one of those moments in my humble little experience on this planet. Everything worked, every song marched forth as the greatest version of itself. The end of the night came in the blink of an eye and it was all in the can. A celebration of LIFE with all of its imperfections and uncertainties.

This is a LIVE collection of my favourite songs along with six new previously unreleased tracks. No overdubs, no musical edits, honest and raw.
